    HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DEJI!

My hubby is becoming an old man, guys! Four days ago we celebrated his 33rd birthday. I know. I know. Thirty-three is not old but I like to tease him anyway. I had the hardest time planning for his big day. I didn’t want to have a typical birthday dinner because he’s not a typical guy. He loves being outdoors and he loves an adventure. I planned to have a surprise scavenger hunt but not enough people could make it. I wont lie, I was pretty bummed. Maybe the scavenger hunt will work out better next year. We had an intimate dinner instead and it still turned out…

    A CELEBRATION OF LOVE

Last weekend Deji and I attended his cousin’s wedding and we had an awesome time! On Saturday we attended the Nigerian ceremony shown above and on Sunday, the white wedding (where I wore that beautiful floral dress). It had been a long time since I’ve had a reason to get all dolled up. I was excited to get glam and celebrate with family. It was so great to see everyone! The bride and groom were glowing and love was certainly in the air!

    MY NEW SKINCARE ROUTINE

A few months ago I wrote a post called How I Keep My Skin Photo Ready that outlined my skincare routine at the time. I love this soap because its gentle, it smells nice, I can pronounce just about…

    MY THAILAND ADVENTURE

Traveling the world and exploring different cultures has always been something I wanted to do but didn’t believe that I could. So this year when my best friend asked me to go to Thailand with her and some friends my first reaction to smile and say “that would be so cool” while already telling myself “you cant possibly afford to do that”. My friend was so excited and immediately went on to start researching and planning. I immediately went on to start formulating my excuse as to why I couldn’t go so I could smoothly decline when we she presented me with her findings. Then it hit me. The money would…

    BEING TRUE TO YOURSELF

When I was a child I wanted to be a labor and delivery nurse. Specific for a 6 year old, right? I loved babies and I thought the best job ever would be to help bring them into the world. Around age 13, I decided I wanted to be a fashion designer. I had discovered my creative self and it totally changed my world. Since then I’ve always known I was a creative and I wanted to create. Over the years it’s been fashion, music, poetry, jewelry, cooking, etc. I feel so alive creating things. As I got older, however, I allowed fear and the opinions and doubts of others…
