    My Pantry Transformation

For a long time my pantry was a pain in the neck! Every time I opened the door and saw the colorful heaps of boxes, bags and cans facing every which way I shuddered in disgust. I’d organize it as neatly as I could and be somewhat satisfied but within a day or two my husband (who isn’t as meticulous as I am) would have unintentionally destroyed the balance that I’d worked so hard to create. I drooled over the beautifully organized pantries on Pinterest but never took the steps to make mine fabulous too. Now that the task is done, I wish I would have stopped being cheap and…

    The New “Norm”

Last weekend my girlfriends and I got together for what we called “Cul-De-Sac & Chill”. Basically, everyone parked their car in the cul-de-sac in front of one of the girls’ house and set up shop in the trunk of their SUV…from a safe distance, of course.  We all brought food and drinks for ourselves so it was a bona fide quarantine-style girl’s night. I’m the only one with a sedan so I hung out of the window like Ace Ventura with a big grin. Am I showing my age with that one? Anyway, we had an amazing time getting together to laugh and talk and vent about any and everything.…

    THIS IS 31

Wow! What journey 30 has been! I will never forget this year and all the transformation it brought along with it. Shortly after my 30th birthday I stopped creating content on all my platforms and ditched social media for several months to focus on finding peace and happiness. I was feeling overwhelmed, unfulfilled, and lost. There were some negative thoughts, habits, hurts, and emotions inside of me that needed to be brought to the light. I thank God they were! In the past year, my life has been greatly enriched by the lessons I’ve learned. In hopes of encouraging you on your own journey I want to share with you…

    DECORATING FOR FALL

It has been quite a while since I last posted on the blog but I’m easing my way back in with this new post where I share all of my fall decor with you. I’m not big on Halloween decor so my fall decorations carry me through October and November. The fall decor that I have has really made my home so cozy this season. The colors, the shapes and the textures all came together so nicely. The best part is that it didn’t take much time, effort or money. Keep scrolling to see my fall decor and get inspired if you’re looking to bring that festive fall touch to…

    CHRISTMAS DECORATING

We all know those people that are Christmas fanatics. They start pulling out Christmas décor on the first of October. Forget Halloween and Thanksgiving. I too love Christmas but WHEN IT’S TIME, folks! And the time is now. Growing up, the tradition in my family was to put up the tree and commence the Christmas excitement the day after Thanksgiving. I plan to continue that tradition in my own home. We were a few days behind schedule putting up the tree because we hadn’t picked one out yet. When I finally decided on the perfect tree I found that it was sold out everywhere including online. My husband knew how…

SUPER SIMPLE HOLIDAY TABLE FOR UNDER $20

Thanksgiving is next week and I’m so ready! I’m salivating just thinking about the spread. Greens, beans, potatoes, tomatoes, chicken, turkeys, rabbit. YOU NAME IT! I know y’all remember that. Now of course, we’ve given thought to what’s on the menu but what about the table itself? A great tablescape really goes a long way in setting the atmosphere for an event. In the past my table was always covered with food but I’ve learned that creating a neat assembly line in the kitchen leaves so much space at the table and makes the dining experience much more enjoyable. It doesn’t have to cost a fortune to create a festive…

    MY 30TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

A week ago today, I turned 30 years old. Man! Thirty years old! My twenties were awesome and taught me so much about life. I’m actually a teensy bit sad to see them go. As far as my thirties go, I don’t have any huge goals or expectations. At this point, I just want to take it day by day and see where that gets me. And if you know me, you know that’s far from my usual constant need for control. I don’t want to be as hard on myself in this next decade as I was in the last. So cheers to my thirties! In celebration of this…

    GIRL’S NIGHT IN

Life can get so busy sometimes. And even with my small circle of friends, getting everyone together at one time can be a task in itself. I try to get my girlfriends together at least a few times a year to kick back and catch up. I usually see each of them individually but theres nothing like having everyone in the same room at the same time. So, not long ago I planned my first girl’s night of the year and it was great! We all just sat around stuffing our faces with pizza, popcorn, and chocolate, sharing all the latest celebrity gossip, and sipping on fruity cocktails. You would…

    SHOWERING THE BABY

This month I was blessed to have 2 baby showers that were both amazing! I was very pleased with how beautifully everything came out for our woodlands themed shower. They were extremely stressful to plan and execute but in the end it was worth the smiles, the laughter, and the joy that filled our home on both occasions. My husband and I have wonderful people in our lives that are so excited about our new addition. The first shower was a bit more formal and structured. Most of my friends attended that one as well as a few older family members, old coworkers, and my mother-in-law flew in for it…
