    The New “Norm”

Last weekend my girlfriends and I got together for what we called “Cul-De-Sac & Chill”. Basically, everyone parked their car in the cul-de-sac in front of one of the girls’ house and set up shop in the trunk of their SUV…from a safe distance, of course.  We all brought food and drinks for ourselves so it was a bona fide quarantine-style girl’s night. I’m the only one with a sedan so I hung out of the window like Ace Ventura with a big grin. Am I showing my age with that one? Anyway, we had an amazing time getting together to laugh and talk and vent about any and everything.…

    THIS IS 31

Wow! What journey 30 has been! I will never forget this year and all the transformation it brought along with it. Shortly after my 30th birthday I stopped creating content on all my platforms and ditched social media for several months to focus on finding peace and happiness. I was feeling overwhelmed, unfulfilled, and lost. There were some negative thoughts, habits, hurts, and emotions inside of me that needed to be brought to the light. I thank God they were! In the past year, my life has been greatly enriched by the lessons I’ve learned. In hopes of encouraging you on your own journey I want to share with you…

Keep scrolling to see my fall decor and get inspired if you’re looking to bring that festive fall touch to…

    CHRISTMAS DECORATING

We all know those people that are Christmas fanatics. They start pulling out Christmas décor on the first of October. Forget Halloween and Thanksgiving. I too love Christmas but WHEN IT’S TIME, folks! And the time is now. Growing up, the tradition in my family was to put up the tree and commence the Christmas excitement the day after Thanksgiving. I plan to continue that tradition in my own home. We were a few days behind schedule putting up the tree because we hadn’t picked one out yet. When I finally decided on the perfect tree I found that it was sold out everywhere including online. My husband knew how…

    MAC & CHEESE MUFFINS

I’m not too sure what kind of Thanksgiving I’ll be having this year. Considering that I’ve had to host for the past 4 years I was certain that I would go small and not stress this year…but I though the same thing last year and that didn’t happen then either. Any way it goes, there’s one food that’s a non-negotiable in my family. This dish is my husband’s favorite and therefore must be on the table. It’s the mac and cheese. Last year, I tried something new and made mac and cheese muffins for the first time. My, oh my! They were a hit! In fact, I had to make…

SUPER SIMPLE HOLIDAY TABLE FOR UNDER $20

Thanksgiving is next week and I’m so ready! I’m salivating just thinking about the spread. Greens, beans, potatoes, tomatoes, chicken, turkeys, rabbit. YOU NAME IT! I know y’all remember that. Now of course, we’ve given thought to what’s on the menu but what about the table itself? A great tablescape really goes a long way in setting the atmosphere for an event. In the past my table was always covered with food but I’ve learned that creating a neat assembly line in the kitchen leaves so much space at the table and makes the dining experience much more enjoyable. It doesn’t have to cost a fortune to create a festive…

    MY 30TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

A week ago today, I turned 30 years old. Man! Thirty years old! My twenties were awesome and taught me so much about life. I’m actually a teensy bit sad to see them go. As far as my thirties go, I don’t have any huge goals or expectations. At this point, I just want to take it day by day and see where that gets me. And if you know me, you know that’s far from my usual constant need for control. I don’t want to be as hard on myself in this next decade as I was in the last. So cheers to my thirties! In celebration of this…

Fall has arrived! I’m so happy! Bring on the warm tea, good books, s’mores, cozy blankets and of course, fall fashion! Fall is my favorite season to dress for. I’m so here for the suedes, velvets, and corduroys. It’s also the time of year that I feel inspired to add a little color to my ‘do. You can’t convince me that I’m not slaying Fall with this look. This outfit features the cutest zip front corduroy skirt and the perfect over the knee boot for every day wear. I’m also loving the mock turtleneck with quarter length sleeves to keep me from overheating while it’s still early in the season. As…

REFLECTING ON MY FIRST YEAR AS A MAMA

My baby is officially one year old which means I survived my first year of parenthood! Technically, he’s been a one year old for a month today so I’m a little late but this is life. Becoming a mom was something I knew I wanted since I was a little girl. As a young woman, I’d daydream about being pregnant and holding my baby. I would look in my rearview mirror as I was driving and imagine a little car seat in the back. Seriously! I looked forward to the day I would become a mom to a little angel. The day I found out I was pregnant… Best. Day.…
